In 1969, when our founder Dr. Richard J. DeSa published “A Practical Automatic Data Acquisition System for Stopped-flow Spectrophotometry,”( Computers and Biomedical Research), he had no thought of “upcycling” the spectrophotometer he was using nor did he anticipate that he would design endlessly upgradable spectrophotometers for hundreds of others to use. He was advancing his own ambitious research goals. But, by the early 1980s, he left his academic career to help you advance yours.

Our company founder computerized (‘upcycled’) the spectrophotometers in his own laboratory in the 1960s and 70s. Today, you can choose to upcycle a spectrophotometer in your laboratory. Perennial favorites are the HP 8452, HP 8453, Cary 14, Cary 17, and Perkin-Elmer 983 IR.

Fluorescence Spectroscopy

NIR Spectroscopy

CLARiTY UV/Vis
OLIS CLARiTY is a line of UV/Vis spectrophotometers for measuring pathlength correctable absorbance on light scattering (turbid/ hazy) samples as well as clear.
CD UV/Vis
CD spectroscopy is used to study the chirality of molecules. OLIS produces CD spectrophotometers for deepest UV through NIR spectral ranges, all employing an entirely digital data acquisition method which can only result in the correct answer.

Diffuse and specular reflectance can be added to several OLIS models.
