Cobalt

Cobalt Light Systems makes ground-breaking tools that dramatically reduce costs in pharmaceutical quality control applications. Our instruments – based on non-conventional types of Raman spectroscopy – reduce the time and resources required for raw materials ID verification and content uniformity batch testing. Cobalt’s pharmaceutical products are used by 8 of the top 10 pharmaceutical manufacturers.

  • Content Uniformity- TRS100 replaces HPLC for high-throughput content uniformity testing. Using Transmission Raman spectroscopy a single TRS100 and operator can replace 8-10 HPLC units and their operators. The TRS100 works with coated tablets, intact capsules and powders. A single tray holds up to 200 samples and can measure hundreds of samples per hour – sample preparation and consumable items are not required. CU testing methods using Transmission Raman have been approved by regulators.

  • Raw Materials ID- RapID enables materials verification through unopened multi-layer paper sacks, plastic bottles, thick amber glass, FIBCs (“super-sacks”) and other containers, making 100% verification cost-effective, safe and fast. RapID’s unique SORS technology provides robust, unambiguous ID verification of most common pharmaceutical materials in 5-20 seconds in a warehouse without a sampling booth.
