For over 40 years, American Laboratory has been renowned for its vibrant, thought-provoking covers. Each issue depicts a large, colorful representation that leaves one pondering the source of the image. Imaging and microscopy techniques have truly evolved in a manner that allows us to dive in and see the unseen. Some of these images have surprised the best of us. The Olympus BioScapes International Digital Imaging Competition and Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition have been reputable contributing sources for such images.
