Leading Life Science and Diagnostics Manufacturing firm will Manufacture, Market, Sell and Distribute Microbiological Monitors, Liquid Media and ZapCap and Centrex Products
SANFORD, Maine, Jan. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Maine Manufacturing, LLC announced today that it has acquired from GE Healthcare a line of laboratory products to add to its growing life science portfolio. The product lines include the market-leading microbiological monitors in both 47mm and 56mm sizes, and the associated broad range of ready-to-use liquid growth media. In addition, Maine Manufacturing can now offer direct to customers and distributors the ZapCap brand of bottle top filtration units and the broad range of Centrex centrifugal filters. The products acquired were previously developed by Schleicher & Schuell and have been marketed under the Whatman® brand since 2006.
"The addition of these products fits very nicely with our recently announced acquisition of the filter and membrane business of GE Osmonics," stated Bill Emhiser, President of Maine Manufacturing. "These products from GE Healthcare are well recognized brands with a wide range of applications, and allow us to provide customers a broad offering to meet their various needs. As we are doing with the GE Osmonics laboratory products, the team at Maine Manufacturing plans to expand both customer and applications support. We look forward to working with these new customers and distribution partners to continue to grow our overall business, by providing the best possible service," continued Emhiser.
